Terms of Service
Last updated: June 12, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of services provided by Chef Matts Culinary Creations LLC ("Chef Matts," "we," "us," or "our"). By booking a service, paying a deposit, or otherwise engaging Chef Matts, you ("Client") agree to these Terms.
1. Services
Chef Matts provides in-home private chef services including, but not limited to, weekly meal prep, private dinner parties, cooking classes, brunch service, cocktail parties, bachelorette events, and special occasion catering across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. Specific menu, pricing, headcount, and timing are confirmed in writing prior to each event.
2. Booking, Deposits & Payment
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due on or before the event date unless otherwise agreed in writing. Accepted payment methods will be specified on your invoice. Final headcount must be confirmed at least seven (7) days before the event; pricing is based on the confirmed count and is not reduced for no-shows.
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling
- Cancellations 14+ days before the event: deposit forfeited; no further charge.
- Cancellations 7–13 days before the event: 50% of the total estimate is due.
- Cancellations less than 7 days before the event: 100% of the total estimate is due.
- Rescheduling is subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
- If Chef Matts must cancel due to illness or emergency, you will receive a full refund or first priority on rescheduling.
4. Allergies & Dietary Restrictions
Client is responsible for disclosing all food allergies, intolerances, and dietary restrictions for every guest in writing prior to the event. While Chef Matts takes great care to accommodate allergies, our kitchens and client kitchens are not certified allergen-free environments and cross-contact is possible. Client assumes all risk associated with allergies not disclosed in advance.
5. Client Kitchen & Responsibilities
Client agrees to provide a clean, functional kitchen with working appliances, adequate counter space, refrigeration, hot water, and access to standard cookware unless otherwise arranged. Client is responsible for guest behavior, property access, parking, and any permits required at the service location.
6. Alcohol & Wine Service
Where wine pairing, pouring, or cocktail service is included as an enhancement, all alcohol is supplied by the Client unless explicitly stated otherwise. Client represents that all guests consuming alcohol are of legal drinking age and accepts full responsibility for service of alcohol at the event.
7. Travel & Service Area
Standard service areas include South Jersey, the Jersey Shore, the Philadelphia Main Line, Philadelphia, the Grand Strand, and Myrtle Beach. Events outside these areas may incur a travel fee, lodging, or per diem, quoted in advance.
8. Photography & Marketing
Chef Matts may photograph food, table settings, and the kitchen environment for portfolio and marketing use. Photos will not identify Clients or guests by name without prior written consent. Notify us in advance if you prefer no photography.
9. Liability
Chef Matts is fully insured and ServSafe certified. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chef Matts' total liability for any claim arising from a service is limited to the amount paid by Client for that specific service. Chef Matts is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of enjoyment, or losses arising from undisclosed allergies, guest conduct, or conditions of the Client's property.
