Do I need a private chef or a personal chef?

Private chef work is ongoing — built around recurrence and a working relationship. Personal chef work is event-based — built around a specific date. If you want dinner handled every week, that's private. If you want a chef for a specific evening, that's personal. Most households arrive uncertain which they need; the consultation sorts it.

What regions do you serve?

New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. In New Jersey: South Jersey, the Jersey Shore, North Jersey, and Central Jersey. In Pennsylvania: Philadelphia and the Main Line. In South Carolina: Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand.

How is pricing structured?

Private chef engagements (ongoing work) are quoted per cadence — weekly or monthly retainer. Personal chef bookings (event-based) are quoted per event based on menu, guest count, and service requirements. Most quotes are produced after a short consultation. Published baseline pricing is available for private dinner parties ($125 per person, 8-guest minimum) and cooking classes ($150 per person, 8-guest minimum). Other formats are quoted per engagement. No NJ sales tax when groceries are reimbursed by the client; PA, SC, and other states collect applicable sales tax. A 20% gratuity is automatically applied to all parties over $1,000.

Do you cook in the client's home?

Yes — on-site, in the client's kitchen or rental, in nearly every case. The kitchen is left clean.

Can you handle dietary restrictions across multiple guests?

Standard. Allergies, vegetarian, gluten-free, religious, athletic, and medical diets are built into menu design — including different plates for different members of the same household or guest group.

How far in advance should I book?

Most engagements book four to eight weeks ahead. Summer Jersey Shore weekends and major holiday weeks book three to six months out. Standing private chef engagements start with a two-week trial before locking in cadence.
